The Lottery Office Donates $110K to Orange Sky to Support Australians in Need

Largest Donation Yet to Help Communities Facing Growing Hardship

The Lottery Office has proudly made its largest donation to date, contributing $110,000 to Australian charity Orange Sky to help expand access to free laundry and shower services for people experiencing hardship across the Northern Territory, Western Australia, South Australia and the ACT.

The significant contribution comes at a critical time, as communities across Australia continue to feel the pressure of the ongoing cost of living crisis. Demand for Orange Sky’s essential services has grown substantially, with more Australians turning to the charity for practical support, dignity and connection.

Supporting More Australians During the Cost-of-Living Crisis

Orange Sky operates mobile laundry and shower vans that provide free services to people experiencing homelessness and financial hardship. Beyond clean clothes and hot showers, the organisation is known for creating safe, welcoming spaces where volunteers can connect with those doing it tough through genuine conversation and support.

The Lottery Office’s donation will directly assist Orange Sky in continuing and expanding these services in some of Australia’s most geographically challenging and vulnerable regions.

The Lottery Office CEO Jaclyn Wood said the organisation was proud to support a charity making a tangible difference in people’s everyday lives.

“Orange Sky provides more than just laundry and shower facilities — they provide dignity, connection and hope. As the cost of living continues to impact more Australians, we’re incredibly proud to make our biggest ever donation to help support communities in need across the NT, WA, SA and ACT,” Ms Wood said.

Helping Deliver Dignity, Connection and Hope

The donation reflects The Lottery Office’s ongoing commitment to supporting Australian communities and charitable initiatives that create meaningful social impact.

Orange Sky has seen increasing demand for its services as rising housing pressures, inflation and financial stress affect more individuals and families nationwide. The additional funding will help ensure the charity can continue delivering vital support where it is needed most.

Since launching in 2014, Orange Sky has grown into one of Australia’s most recognised charities supporting people experiencing homelessness and hardship, operating services in hundreds of locations around the country.

A Commitment to Creating Positive Community Impact

The Lottery Office said it hopes the donation not only supports Orange Sky’s important work but also raises awareness of the growing need facing many Australians today.

By partnering with organisations like Orange Sky, The Lottery Office continues to support initiatives that provide meaningful, practical assistance to Australians doing it tough.
