Manuel only spent US$10 to walk away with this mind-blowing jackpot, not surprisingly, he didn’t show up for work the next day.
4. AUD$959 million (US Powerball)
Almost breaking the billion dollar win mark, Massachusetts resident Mavis Wanczyk’s life changed on the 23rd August 2017. Mavis took out the US Powerball jackpot, a whopping AUD$959 million. The first thing Mavis did was quit her job, after working 32 years she was now set up for life!
5. AUD$967 million (US Powerball)
Two winners, one from New York and one from Iowa, split a record-breaking AUD$967 million jackpot win on the 27th October 2018.
The New York winner, Robert Bailey, said he would continue playing lottery even after this huge jackpot win.
The lucky Iowa player misplaced the ticket, only to find it later on the floor of her sister’s truck.
She was looking forward to going on a long holiday (or several) and buying a new car.
