The Lottery Office Gifts Vital Equipment to Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation

Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation (SCHF) will receive a new life-saving piece of equipment donated by The Lottery Office.

One of the largest and most trusted kids’ health charities in the country, SCHF exists to help provide all children with access to the best possible healthcare, whenever and wherever they need it.

They have been delivering on this promise since 1986, raising millions every year for a collective of two major children’s hospitals, specialised care services, and cutting edge paediatric research, operating across NSW.  However, this would not be possible without philanthropic support.

Vital New Equipment Donated

Given how expensive vital medical equipment can be, The Lottery Office is only too happy to donate $85,000 to fund a much-needed Giraffe Incubator Carestation and Shuttle to help save young lives.

This remarkable equipment is amongst the most advanced neurodevelopmental support systems available. It’s designed to provide infants with the stability and comfort required for their growth and healing, until it’s time to go home in good health.

In what will be a first for Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation, the “Shuttle” will allow babies to remain in one bed. This will provide a huge benefit as it means babies won’t need to be moved as often. Moving babies is an unwanted disruption as wires and breathing equipment often need to be removed and reattached once the baby has changed beds. With the new Shuttle, babies will be able to be wheeled around the hospital as needed for scans and tests, without having to be disturbed. This will help quicken their recovery.

Raising Funds For Sick Children

Whether it’s used for new equipment, training and education, groundbreaking research, building state-of-the-art facilities or more, the money raised by SCHF provides kids with the world-class healthcare they need and deserve. Over 170,000 kids are helped each year, with countless numbers benefitting for generations to come.
