Funds support women experiencing complex pregnancy

Harrison’s Little Wings is a not-for-profit organisation supporting families in non-clinical, practical ways to relieve the everyday stresses that come with complex pregnancy.

The charity supplies five major maternity hospitals in the greater Brisbane and Gold Coast area with emergency toiletry bags of essentials to mothers unexpectedly admitted to hospital due to complications.

The Lottery Office has donated $6,000 to Harrison’s Little Wings, which will provide 12 months’ worth of emergency toiletries to women with complicated pregnancies.

The Lottery Office CEO, Jaclyn Wood says the charity helps ease the burden for of women who receive a poor or fatal diagnosis during their pregnancy.

“We were drawn to supporting Harrison’s Little Wings due to its unique offering – supporting families along this journey, designed by mothers who have already been on that very same journey and had faith, comfort and support to pull them through,” Ms Wood said.

“We are pleased to know that our donation will help struggling mothers and their families through such a confronting and stressful time.”

The Lottery Office donates a percentage of the cost of every ticket sold to charities across the country, allowing the organisation to make a positive impact on the lives of everyday Australians.

The Lottery Office urges anyone interested in donating to Harrison’s Little Wings to visit the Harrison’s Little Wings website.
