Something amazing happened during last Friday night’s Gold Coast Titans game when thousands people took a moment to wear a bandanna during halftime.

In a powerful show of unity, footy fans broke the Australian record for the most people wearing a bandanna at once – and all for an amazing cause.

Leading youth cancer charity Canteen Australia, in partnership with the Gold Coast Titans and The Lottery Office set out to do something big in organising an event that would not only create a piece of history but also raise awareness.

More Than Just a Bandanna

This wasn’t just about setting a record (although that was awesome too). Each bandanna represented support for young people impacted by cancer. Canteen Australia does life-changing work helping teenagers and young adults navigate the challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis – whether it’s their own or someone they love.

By putting on that bandanna, a spotlight was shone on their strength, their resilience, and the vital services Canteen provides.

A Moment in History

The energy in the stadium was electric. A sea of colour. Thousands of bandannas proudly worn. And the shared feeling that we were part of something truly special. It was a moment none of us will forget – and now it’s officially an Australian record!
