$5,500 dedicated to making children happy at Christmastime
The Lottery Office is officially a Gold Sponsor of the Palmerston Shopping Centre Special Children’s Christmas Party in the Northern Territory.
Special Children’s Christmas Parties is dedicated to providing children living with a disability or life-threatening illness with the opportunity to share the magic of the Festive Season with a community larger than their circle of family and carers.
Each year 1200 invitations are issued to qualifying children and their whole family, often welcoming up to three generations.
Evie attended a Special Children’s Christmas Party with her son in 2019 and said the initiative was something her family looks forward to every year.
“The Special Children’s Christmas Parties are up there with one of the most amazing things we have been involved with for my son,” Evie said.
“The parties are an amazing experience for not only the kids but for us adults as we get to allow our kids to just be themselves without judgement for an entire day.”
The Lottery Office has made a $5,500 contribution to the 2020 Palmerston Shopping Centre Special Children’s Christmas Party.
The Lottery Office CEO Jaclyn Wood said funds will be used to provide food, drinks, activities, entertainment, amusement rides, and quality gifts.
“We are thrilled to be a Gold Sponsor of an initiative dedicated to making Christmas magical for marginalised children and their families,” Ms Wood said.
“Special Children’s Christmas Parties provides a unique and valuable social experience for children with special needs and their families all the while giving full consideration to the safety of all involved.”
