In many respects the Rules for New Lotto are the same: To play, simply select 6 numbers from 1 to 59 or choose a Quick Play. To win the jackpot, all 6 main numbers must be matched. If there’s more than one jackpot winner, the prize will be shared equally between all jackpot winners. The minimum jackpot for each draw is set at £1 million. Draws take place on Wednesday and Saturday evenings UK time.

Two Draws Each Night Means Double the Chance to Win

From 10 June 2026, there will be two separate draws each Wednesday and Saturday. When you purchase an entry for either a Wednesday or a Saturday, it will automatically be entered in both draws for that night. Each entry has a separate chance to win in each draw. That means that a single entry can win in both draws on the same day if it meets the prize criteria in each. The jackpot amount is shared across both draws. All other prizes are fixed and are the same for each draw. Numbers drawn in one draw apply only to that draw and cannot be combined with numbers from another draw to qualify for a winning entry.

If the Lotto jackpot is not won in a draw, the jackpot will rollover a maximum of 5 times and the sixth consecutive draw will become a Must Be Won draw. If no one wins the jackpot in a Must Be Won draw, unless exceptional circumstances apply, all winners matching 2 main numbers will win £5. Winners matching 3 main numbers may also win a boosted prize.

Only one prize can be won per single game in Each Draw

A single game can win in each draw which means it can win twice but only if it wins in each draw. However, a winning ticket only qualifies to win once in each of those draws. If a game fulfils the criteria to win more than one prize in a single draw, only the highest prize will be paid out.

Tax
