How Old Is The US Lottery?

US Powerball was launched in 1992 in place of the original Lotto America. It was introduced as a way to bring a fresh sense of excitement to the lottery!

US Mega Millions has been around since 1996, when it was named ‘The Big Game’. Two draws a week are held across 45 US states, with a starting jackpot of AUD$50 million!

How Can I Play?

We all know that residents of the USA can play US lottery. But what you may not know is anyone holidaying in the US can also play, however you must be there to collect your prize money.

Don’t worry, just because the borders are closed to international travel doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the chance to win big in the US Powerball or US Mega Millions.

Australians and New Zealanders can play online for a chance to win from the draws of this life-changing international lottery – all without leaving home!

You can buy a ticket in one of our USA lotteries and we’ll purchase a matching ticket in the corresponding US Mega Millions or US Powerball draw in America. We pay winners the exact same amount that we collect on the winning matching ticket,  no fees and no commissions.

When Are The Winners Drawn?

As of Tuesday 24th of August 2021 (Australian time) there will be a third US Powerball draw each week, which gives you even more options to play!

Winners will be drawn on  Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturday nights at 10:12pm US Central time (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays AEST).

US Mega Million winners will be drawn on Tuesday and Friday at 11:00pm US Central time (Wednesday and Saturdays AEST).

Have Any Australians Won A US Lottery?

A Sydney player has claimed a division 2 prize in our USA Power Lotto, with a massive AUD$1,656,020 win!

This record breaking win is Australia’s largest ever pay-out from the draw of an international lottery jackpot.

The winner made the very wise decision to play USA Power Lotto and accidentally selected the Multiplier option for the low price of only $3.45, which doubled their prize from what would have been just over AUD$820,000 to AUD$1.65 million. The Multiplier is available in both our USA Power Lotto and USA Mega Lotto, and can multiply all non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times.

We purchased a matching ticket with his lottery numbers in the July 10 (US time) US Powerball draw held in the USA, and it won USD$2 million before US taxes (all winnings at The Lottery Office are free from Australian taxes).

Other winners include A WA miner, who won AUD$45,612.30 after he purchased a ticket in our USA Power Lotto draw in July 2019. Another winner struck rich with a AUD$42,600 division 3 win from the draw of US Powerball in September 2020.

FAQ

Who can sign up with The Lottery Office?

Anyone aged 18 years and over and who resides in Australia or New Zealand, can register an account with The Lottery Office.

Who is The Lottery Office?

The Lottery Office is operated by Global Players Network Pty Ltd. We are Australian owned and operated and licensed by the Northern Territory Government. We have offices in Darwin, NT and on the Gold Coast, QLD. The Lottery Office is unlike other companies. Our unique business model allows you to enter our own Government approved lotteries. When you enter one of our lotteries, we will then purchase a matching ticket in a major overseas lottery and we will claim any prize that is won from the overseas ticket and pay you the exact same amount. This ensures we are able to pay out any prize and not have to rely on an insurance policy like other companies. It also allows our players to have the chance to win from matched tickets with major overseas lotteries having prizes reaching into the billions.

Will I receive a ticket?

Yes. You will receive a Lottery Office ticket detailing the game numbers and draw dates for our lottery that you have entered. Your Lottery Office ticket can be found under 'My Draws' in your Lottery Office account. The overseas lottery ticket remains the property of The Lottery Office, and will be stored securely in the country of origin. Some countries have laws forbidding the transport of lottery tickets outside the country.
